Nick Waterhouse’s music sounds like some kind of blues swing into honey dips, syncopated melodica, with a twanged out guitar; his take is low-fi and distorted. He carries through each song with wild abandon with no goal of taming his instinct to roar. It is clear as all hell that Waterhouse owes everything he plays to music history in the same kind of roots resurgence that we are seeing today. However, Waterhouse is unique in his approach–he tackles the raw spirit and commits to unveiling it. He has a raw chord in his body that makes his music what you hope for and prevents him from becoming cliché
