Monday’s oh hot damn jam of the day: Alela Diane

What can I say about this? Alela Diane has a gorgeous voice and “The Pirate’s Gospel” is the kind of music that perfectly syncs with a mellow and overcast morning. This song has been out for some time now. But it just felt right to bring it out today. Diane really transcends the ”freak-folk” genre. She seems to organically expanding and expressing the instrumental colors of her sea shanties and family heirloom stories. She has a voice that effortlessly spins and contorts yet can also stay beautifully still like that of a granite statue.
